Do you offer the updated NYS Mandated Reporter Training?

Yes! We offer the updated NYS Mandated Reporter Training in three convenient formats:
Online / On-Demand – Complete the training at your own pace anytime.
Online / Live – Join a scheduled live virtual session.
In-Person – Available for groups and organizations upon request.

Do you offer the short ADDENDUM to meet the 2026 NYS Mandated Reporter training requirement?

Accepted Answer

While providers of the updated NYS Mandated Reporter training may offer a short addendum, they are not required to.

Making the Tough Call does not offer the 15-minute addendum due to the cost-prohibitive administrative requirements needed to provide it.

We do offer a discounted rate for returning customers who wish to take the full updated on-demand training, which meets all 2026 NYS requirements. Use code 2026 at checkout for 25% off the updated course, or email us at ask@makingthetoughcall.info for more details.

For your convenience, our course uploads certificates directly to NYSED, so you won’t need to submit your certificate yourself.

You are also welcome to take the full new training from another approved provider — however, the addendum alone is not available through Making the Tough Call.

Question 3

I finished the Mandated Reporting course — how do I submit my information?

Accepted Answer

Once you’ve watched the full video and completed the post-test quiz, simply follow the on-screen instructions.
 
Your completion will be uploaded directly to TEACH and/or NYSED — no separate submission is needed. Please allow up to two weeks for the upload to appear on your TEACH account.

How do I get my course certificate of completion?

Accepted Answer

The requisite certificate will be promptly provided once you finish watching the video and successfully complete the post-test quiz.

Be sure to download or save your certificate for your records after completion.

Question 5

My course certificate hasn’t arrived — what should I do?

Accepted Answer

If you’ve completed the course and don’t see your certificate:
Double-check that you finished both the video and the post-test quiz.
Check your spam or promotions folder (sometimes it ends up there).
If you still can’t find it, please email ask@makingthetoughcall.info with your name and the email you used to register so our team can resend it.

Question 6

I took the Mandated Reporter Training, but it’s not showing up on my TEACH account yet.

Accepted Answer

It can take up to two weeks for completions to appear in your TEACH profile.
 If it’s been longer than that, please reach out to ask@makingthetoughcall.info with:
Your full name
The date you completed the course
The email you used to register
